Antidepressants in Aviation

philskies.net1-1_1Use of antidepressant medications by pilots and air traffic controllers does not increase the risk of aviation accidents or incidents, according to a study of 10 years of aviation safety data from Australia, where aeromedical authorities have allowed the supervised use of antidepressants since 1987.

The study, published in Aviation, Space and Environmental Medicine reviewed the cases of 962 pilots and Air Traffic Controllers.
