Bonanza crash on Long Island Railway tracks (Aug 16 2015)

At about 7:45AM on Sunday August 16 2015, a small plane crashed on the tracks of the Long Island Rail Road in Hicksville NY on Long Island. The aircraft reportedly had engine failure. The flight originated from Gabreski Airport in Westhampton Beach (KFOK) and had two on board, the pilot and a passenger.

Unfortunately, the airport the controller kept giving the pilot has been closed for about 15 years and the strip no longer exists. It is covered by commercial buildings and townhouses. The aircraft did come down though about 1/4 Mile short of the old runway.
